This chapter introduces a structured approach to implementing cybersecurity countermeasures in Industrial Internet of Things (IIoT) settings, highlighting effective organization, resource management, and process optimization. Benefiting frameworks like Control Objectives for Information and Related Technologies (COBIT), National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and ISO/IEC 27001 cover key components such as maturity models, governance, asset inventory, and incident handling. Practical strategies are discussed to secure IIoT devices, handle cyber incidents, and ensure ongoing cybersecurity through a lifecycle perspective. This framework equips organizations to manage IIoT cybersecurity with accuracy and adaptability, aligning security efforts with organizational goals, objectives, and industry best practices.
