Managing Security Issues in Phishing using Machine Learning Techniques

Phishing represents a malicious act that combines social engineering and technical deception to illicitly obtain an entity’s private identification information and financial credentials. These deceitful tactics have led to significant financial losses and compromised data within industries and user communities. Phishers employ various methods to cause harm and extract sensitive information, often through the dissemination of malevolent emails and URLs. In response, diligent efforts have been made to counteract phishing attacks, resulting in notable progress in mitigating these threats. This research paper aims to explore the diverse techniques employed by experts to effectively combat phishing by accurately identifying malicious emails and URLs while also highlighting the existing challenges. Furthermore, a proposed phishing mitigation model will be presented to address this issue.
