The Internet of Things (IoT) has brought about new services and better working power, which have changed how people live today. But the widespread use of IoT devices and communication units has made network control much harder than it used to be. Because of this, IoT network control needs to be redesigned. Software-defined networking (SDN), with its ability to be programmed and its ability to be managed centrally, looks like a good way to make network management easier, allow network abstraction, make network development easier, and handle IoT networks well. Still, security worries continue to plague IoT, with Distributed Denial of Service (DDoS) attacks sticking out as a major threat. DDoS attacks, in which a system is overloaded and slowed down on purpose. For these kinds of attacks, attackers put dangerous software called bots on many different devices. This survey paper focus on different defense methods of DDoS attacks in SDN-based IoT networks.
