The rapid urbanization and industrialization of cities have heightened the demand for efficient and sustainable waste management systems. Traditional methods struggle with inefficiencies, resulting in environmental pollution, resource wastage, and health hazards. This study proposes a smart waste management system that leverages the Internet of Things (IoT), Augmented Reality (AR), and Artificial Intelligence (AI) to address these challenges. IoT sensors embedded in waste bins provide real-time monitoring of fill levels, while AR applications assist waste management personnel in visualizing bin statuses and optimizing collection routes. AI algorithms analyze historical and real-time data to predict waste generation patterns, classify waste, and recommend efficient collection routes. The system enhances operational efficiency, reduces fuel consumption, and promotes sustainable waste management practices. The integration of these technologies aims to create a scalable, adaptable solution for urban waste management, contributing to environmental sustainability and supporting the development of smarter cities.
