The Antivirus Scanner application is a robust tool designed to enhance computer security by enabling users to selectively scan specific directories and detect potential malware using a comprehensive database of known malicious signatures. Utilizing the MD5 hash algorithm, it efficiently compares each file's hash against stored malware signatures to accurately determine its safety status. During the scanning process, the application provides real-time feedback through a progress bar and categorizes each file as either "Safe" or "Infected", presenting the results in a well-organized format for easy interpretation. Additionally, it quantifies detected threats, offering users a clear assessment of the severity of identified malware, thereby supporting informed decision-making regarding the appropriate actions to secure their systems. This tool plays a critical role in proactively identifying security risks and preserving data integrity against potential cyber threats.
