Power Based Side-Channel Analysis for Lightweight Cipher Ltlbc

Yusuke Nozaki, Shu Takemoto, 雅弥 吉川 · 2025

Industry 5.0 requires security measures because of the threat of cyber attacks and data leaks from outside due to the communication of a variety of data. As a cryptographic technique for security measures, LTLBC, a low-latency lightweight cipher that can be used in industrial equipment at high speed, is attracting attention. On the other hand, the security of cryptographic circuits requires the tamper resistance against sidechannel analysis. So far, tamper resistance evaluation of LTLBC is insufficient. Therefore, this study proposes an evaluation method to verify the security of LTLBC against side-channel analysis. Experiments using a field programmable gate array show that the proposed method can be used to evaluate the tamper resistance of LTLBC against side-channel analysis using 1,400 waveforms.
