Measuring the degree of deformation of solids is a necessary measure in many areas of science. Sensor equipment containing load cells can perform such a measurement. This type of sensor uses a special type of resistor - a strain gauge. Various ways to incorporate these electronic components into the load cell circuit are described in this article. Using linear equations, numerical characteristics are calculated for different switching options, for example, the sensor sensitivity. Considered schemes for connecting different numbers of active and compensating strain gages to the measuring bridge are considered. Of or different types of deformation, it is necessary to apply suitable switching methods, this should be taken into account when designing information-measuring and control systems. A strain gauge is a resistor with a non-constant active resistance that varies within certain limits under the influence of mechanical loads (for example, when compressing, stretching, or bending the radio element in question). This type of resistor has found active application in sensor equipment, where it is used as a component of devices that recordtheir deformation of various structural elements, their displacement and mechanical stresses. One of the most common applications of a load cell in everyday life is a measuring scale. In the equipment under consideration, the strain gauges is included in the Whitson measuring bridge. In this article, we will present various ways to include strain gages in a bridge.
