A zero-trust security model applied in SDN intelligent network

Haipei Wang, Tadiwa Elisha Nyamasvisva · 2025

This paper proposes a SDP-based zero trust security model for SDN intelligent network. The SDP controller was integrated and deployed based on the existing SDN controller, and the SDP gateway was deployed and implemented in the SDN data plane to deal with the attack problems existing in the SDN network. The experimental results show that without SDP, the client traffic will be interrupted due to DoS attacks. Under the SDP security mechanism, the DoS attack traffic can be reduced by about 25% and the normal communication of the host can be maintained. At the same time, the experiment also shows that compared with the original model, the SDN network under the protection of SDP effectively reduces the data packet loss by nearly 10%, ensures the reliable transmission of SDN data, and effectively improves the security performance of SDN network.
