As the Metaverse becomes a more significant aspect of our digital life, “Training the Digital Warrior: Cybersecurity Awareness in the Age of the Metaverse” examines the urgent need for improved cybersecurity education. This chapter explores the difficulties and dangers brought about by virtual settings, including information regarding data privacy, security of virtual assets, and new types of cyberattacks. It highlights how crucial it is to give people the abilities and information needed to safely traverse these immersive digital environments. It is a brand-new digital frontier that presents distinct cybersecurity challenges as the difference between the real world and virtual reality becomes hazier. The majority of people are using these immersive settings for social, economic, and creative activities more and more, which makes a complete cybersecurity awareness framework essential. The Cybersecurity Awareness Training Framework for the Metaverse (CAT-FM), a customized strategy created to handle the unique security requirements and hazards faced by users navigating the metaverse, is presented in this study. An engaging and dynamic cybersecurity training experience is provided by the CAT-FM framework, which integrates dynamic threat intelligence, behavioral analytics, and user-focused training modules. CAT-FM aims to promote safe conduct in virtual environments and increase user engagement and retention through the use of gamification and adaptive learning methodologies. The main components of the CAT-FM model are described in depth, along with implementation options for various metaverse platforms and metrics to gauge its efficacy. Through the promotion of proactive risk management and cybersecurity awareness, CAT-FM seeks to enable users to become “digital warriors,” better prepared to combat new dangers in the metaverse.
