The adaptive array which can distinguish the interference from the signal of interest (SoI) by the adaptive algorithm is crucial for radar anti-interference. However, it has a resolution blind area (RBA) that results in the loss of SoI while suppressing interference, such as mainlobe interference. A polarization sensitive array (PSA) optimization method based on RBA minimization is proposed to address this problem. The RBA criterion is established in view of interference cancellation quality and anti-interference demand index, and the RBA model based on PSA is proposed. The quantitative mapping relationship between array manifold parameters and RBA distribution parameters is established. It is found that element spacing can significantly affect the RBA. Then, a PSA optimization method which can minimize the RBA by optimizing the element spacing is proposed. The robustness of the adaptive algorithm in complex electromagnetic environment is improved by reducing the resolution blind area of the array.
