THE IMPACT OF CLOUD COMPUTING ON THE QUALITY OF ACCOUNTING

This research aims to elucidate the impact of cloud computing technology on the quality of accounting information.It also defines cloud computing and emphasizes the necessity of its application to keep pace with technological advancements, owing to the benefits it provides in generating high-quality accounting information.The research is based on a single main hypothesis: that the application of cloud computing enhances the quality of accounting information.To achieve the study's objectives, a descriptive-analytical method was employed.Twenty questionnaires were distributed to a sample of accountants and auditors at the Libyan Iron and Steel Company in Misrata.Several key findings were reached, including that financial reports prepared using cloud computing contain information capable of influencing decision-making directions.The study also revealed that rigorous application of accounting policies contributes to producing reliable and suitable information under cloud computing.Furthermore, the study indicated that information in reports prepared using cloud computing technology aids in verifying compliance with adopted measures, as financial reports contain accurately representative information of the phenomena they report on.Additionally, these reports facilitate anomaly detection by assessing changes in items.The study highlighted that cloud computing enhances accounting information systems in terms of quality, ease of use, lower costs, and quick, accurate information delivery anytime.Moreover, it aligns with the evolving accounting profession, providing high-quality and credible accounting information to support informed decision-making.3Several recommendations were made, emphasizing the necessity of leveraging the capabilities and advancements offered by cloud computing to support the accounting profession and encourage institutions to adopt cloud computing programs.It also stressed the importance of educating and increasing user confidence in cloud accounting software through training programs.
