Chapter 19 addresses inter-operation between the 5G core network and the evolved packet core. The chapter lays out the various architectures that are available to the network operator and the registration modes that are available to the mobile. It then addresses the resulting signalling procedures, with which the mobile can re-register with a new core network, or the network can transfer the mobile both with and without the support of a reference point denoted N26.
