Representative Points for Discrete Massive Data

Representative points have many applications for discrete data, especially for discrete massive data. In this chapter, we specifically focus on introducing a variety of subsampling methods, both model-based and model-free, in the context of these high-dimensional settings ( N >> p ). These methods are designed to extract a subset of representative data points from the massive data set, thereby reducing the dimensionality and computational complexity while retaining the essential characteristics of the original data.
