Criminal protection to the digital right to be forgotten in Jordan

Individuals' private information may be readily accessible to third parties, which may exert harm to the individual's reputation. The so-called right to be forgotten was established in response to people's urge to delete information that had previously been published about them. This issue has risen in light of the development of the digital publication. The absence of legal texts that protect this right, and occasionally the existence of legal texts that may contradict this right, such as the right to freedom of expression and the controversy about the practicality of establishing a right to be forgotten, are among the issues that may affect or prevent the enjoyment of this right and its exposure to a violation. The current study will explain the concept and nature of the right to be forgotten and the criminal protection provided by legislation and its problems in Jordanian law.
