In the age of digital transformation, data sharing between businesses (B2B) within hospitality has become extremely valuable. Consequently, better cooperation, data validation, and optimized decision-making improve operational efficiency due to these enabled data exchanges, leading to the economical establishment of virtual value chains. Because of this, it is essential to tackle the issues related to privacy and security as international businesses in hospitality move towards integrated data networks. This chapter evaluates the specific data protection problems for B2B sharing in hospitality and proposes a holistic privacy risk reduction framework. The chapter investigates how encouraging transparent data sharing while ensuring the confidentiality of sensitive information can be achieved by several key technologies, e.g., encryption, access control, anonymous records, and audit trails. Furthermore, the chapter surveys advanced technologies such as homomorphic encryption, blockchain, or differential privacy and assesses their potential to increase secure collaboration in B2B scenarios. The research findings of this chapter are essential to inform a flexible strategy minimizing risks by promoting established and emerging technologies for efficiency and consented data sharing without invading privacy in the hospitality industry.
