The convergence of Software-Defined Networking (SDN) and Named Data Networking (NDN) has drawn significant interest due to its numerous benefits. The SDN controller enables the introduction of new routing policies that leverage the advantages of SDN-NDN as an alternative to NDN's default routing. In this paper, we first demonstrate how the NDN routing problem can be mapped to a multi-commodity flow problem (MCFP), which is NP-complete. We then propose Single Path Routing (SPR), a controller-based centralized routing scheme in SDN-NDN, designed to reduce network traffic and optimize forwarding node intelligence. Additionally, we propose Multipath Routing (MPR), a scheme capable of retrieving large, non-overlapping content. Both SPR and MPR aim to expedite content retrieval. Experimental results show that SPR and MPR significantly improve performance in terms of content fetching delay and throughput compared to NDN and SDN-IP.
