The confidentiality, integrity, and availability of associated systems are under risk due to the additional vulnerabilities and attack vectors brought about by the rapid expansion of Internet of Things (IoT). Since building a secure IoT ecosystem is a challenging undertaking, recognizing and addressing security issues necessitates a methodical and all-encompassing strategy. In order to create and execute security solutions that successfully counter new threats, cybersecurity research considerations are crucial to addressing these difficulties. Strict security standards must be developed by scientists and engineers to provide the groundwork for safe chipsets, devices, and networks, which will be necessary to create a secure IoT ecosystem fit for real-time applications. Network architects, systems designers, cybersecurity specialists, and domain experts must work together to create such a standard. One of the main objectives of IoT security is making sure that systems can withstand both known and unforeseen threats. Numerous significant problems with IoT system architecture have been found by researchers examining IoT security. Protocol management, networking, and communications are only a few of the many subjects covered by the questions. This study focuses on real-time applications and attempts to present a thorough and comprehensible examination of anomalous circumstances and IoT security concepts. With a particular focus on connectivity, communication, and protocol management challenges, we categorize and examine prevalent security flaws in the layered architecture of IoT systems. We create a strong basis for comprehending the IoT security landscape by closely reviewing the most recent attacks, threats, and solutions. We also created security objectives as standards by which to assess how well solutions address the requirements of real-time IoT applications. Therefore, this article, which focuses on real-time applications, offers an overview of recent advancements in reducing security concerns in this domain and offers a broader knowledge of cybersecurity issues associated with the IoT.
