Interconnected via wireless channels, tens of thousands of sensor nodes (SNs) may provide a digital interface to physical things; this technology is essential to the Internet of Things (IoT). Finding an effective routing protocol to enhance the performance of Mobile wireless sensor network (MWSN) becomes more difficult due to mobility, which compounds the key issues of MWSN, which are energy consumption, connection, scalability, and security. To enhance the performance of MWSNs, we provide a new routing protocol that utilizes virtual network zones and the dual-tier clustering idea in this research. The primary goal of this method is to optimize the data gathering capacity of the mobile sensor system for data-intensive applications. It does this in two stages: first, by selecting the cluster heads appropriately, and second, by transmitting as much data as possible from the cluster heads to the base station for as little time as possible. Our suggested technique shows substantial performance benefits in data collecting in simulations. Once the network region is divided into virtual zones by the suggested protocol “Dual Time Cluster-Based Routing” (DTC-BR), a cluster-head mechanism selects the most appropriate SN to function as Cluster Head (CH). Moreover, the Virtual Zone is a two-tier routing method designed to cover the entire network area.
