C. V. Suresh Babu, P. Andrew Simon, Sudhir Manoharan · Advances in information security, privacy, and ethics book series · 2025
Th chapter aims to explore advanced artificial intelligence (AI)-driven methods for detecting, mitigating, and preventing ransomware attacks targeting critical infrastructures. The primary objective is to provide a comprehensive framework for enhancing cybersecurity through AI-powered anomaly detection, behavioral analysis, and predictive modeling. . A mixed-method approach combining systematic literature analysis, case studies, and AI-based software solutions was employed to evaluate ransomware threats and propose robust AI-based defenses. Findings reveal that AI can significantly improve real-time detection, reduce response time, and strengthen proactive defenses against evolving ransomware variants. The study concludes by emphasizing the importance of continuous AI model updates, human-AI collaboration, and strategic deployment in high-stakes environments. These insights have significant implications for building resilient, AI-driven cybersecurity ecosystems.
