Co-Designing Immersive Eco-Centric Living Spaces: Augmented Reality Integration in Furniture Retailing (AR-InFuRe)

The research explores the co-design of immersive eco-centric living spaces by integrating augmented reality (AR) technology into furniture retailing. AR has emerged as a transformative tool in creating interactive and personalized shopping experiences, allowing customers to visualize and interact with furniture items in their living spaces before making a purchase. By leveraging AR, retailers can enhance customer engagement, increase sales, and differentiate themselves in a competitive market. AR-InFuRe is a modern innovative application that uses Augmented Reality technology as its main feature, it will bring a new experience to the user. By leveraging Augmented Reality, the application allows users to see the interior of the home in its original size through a practical device. Users can try a variety of interior options, ranging from furniture to furniture and users can customize it to the size of the room. From the results of the User Experience Questionnaire (UEQ) evaluation, it was found that Attractiveness and Perspiculity were close to a value of 2 which indicated that the application was quite good. Besides, AR-InFuRe Home offers the possibility of collaborating in real-time with interior designers or other partners. The main attraction of AR-InFuRe is to provide a new and very practical design experience used by the public. Thus, this app opens the door for anyone to work creatively to design their home or room in a new way.
