This paper presents an evaluation of six TCP congestion control algorithms i.e. Vegas, Linux Reno, Westwood Plus, YEAH, Cubic, and BBR in WiGig networks operating under the IEEE 802.11ad protocol. Utilizing Network Simulator 3 (NS-3) with the WiGig module, we simulate two distinct network topologies, one with a single flow and another with two competing flows. The algorithms are assessed based on standard network performance metrics, including delay, jitter, and throughput. The study emphasizes the trade-offs associated with each algorithm across various network conditions, highlighting the importance of selecting appropriate congestion control methods suitable for specific application requirements and network environments.
