This paper explores the potential of blockchain technology in tracking and reducing carbon footprints, contributing to a sustainable future. Traditional methods of monitoring carbon emissions often struggle with inefficiency and lack of transparency. Blockchain’s decentralized and immutable nature offers significant advantages, including enhanced data accuracy and real-time tracking of carbon data. This study reviews existing literature, presents case studies, and analyzes the impact of blockchain applications on carbon footprint management. It also discusses the challenges of implementing blockchain technology and suggests future directions for research and development in this field.
