An Overview of Ontology Learning Methodologies and Systems as a Subset of Ontology Engineering
F Rahman, Lalnunthari Lalnunthari · 2025
The ontology functions as a universally accepted framework for the representation, exchange, and reuse of knowledge. Due to its importance, multiple approaches have been proposed for building ontologies. However, the process of constructing ontology is a challenging and time-consuming endeavor. Various strategies have been put in place to assist ontology engineers in addressing the obstacle of knowledge acquisition. This work seeks to offer a succinct introduction of ontology learning methods, examining several systems and tools for extracting ontologies, and concludes with a comparative summary. Furthermore, it explores contemporary concerns and key patterns in the development of ontology from written sources.
