In the fast-evolving world of cloud computing, we have to ensure that systems run seamlessly even in the presence of challenges. Load balancing serves as a vital protector by offering fault tolerance and high availability, efficiently allocating workloads across multiple resources rather than merely distributing traffic. Traditional load balancing models reduce the risk of component overload failures but struggle to handle the unique challenges of cloud environments, such as dynamic workloads and unpredictable failures. In this paper, we presented the rise of advanced solutions and their power to overcome the drawbacks of conventional load balancing methods. Advanced methods improve fault tolerance and high availability by considering server status and workload nature, going beyond traditional traffic splitting techniques. The research enhances the understanding of load balancing and parallel scheduling in the cloud, focusing on security and resilience. As a result, we have demonstrated the significant role played by self-adaptive and intelligent load balancing approaches.
