An Enhanced Mitigation Approach for Stealthy and Covert IoT Botnet

Ramesh Singh Rawat, Manoj Diwakar, Umang Garg, Prakash Srivastava · 2024

Internet of Things (IoT) botnet is one of the crucial threat that targeted millions of IoT devices in a very short time. Due to the lack of effective and efficient mitigation techniques, it becomes most prevalent attack for IoT systems. There are some models to distinguish among the malicious and normal traffic. Therefore, an efficient mechanism is required for the detection and mitigation of IoT botnet. The effective approach must identify the botnet behavior and activities. The current article implements a comprehensive mitigation approach for IoT botnets. The performance of the model is evaluated in terms of distinct factors such as classification of IoT malicious and benign traffic. The model generates the better results in terms of distinct performance parameters such as accuracy, precision, and recall.
