The digital transformation of educational institutions has significantly increased their susceptibility to information security threats, necessitating comprehensive strategies for analysis, assessment, and prevention. This article provides a thorough examination of the multifaceted cybersecurity challenges that schools, colleges, and universities face today. It categorizes the types of threats such as malware, phishing, data breaches, and insider threats, and discusses their origins, whether internal or external. The manuscript further explores the potential severe consequences of these security breaches, which include financial losses, operational disruptions, and reputational damage. The review emphasizes the importance of a proactive approach in cultivating a security-conscious culture alongside implementing technological solutions to mitigate risks.
