Fog-assisted cyber-physical systems have led to several new security issues due to the fact that fog nodes are much more vulnerable than traditional cloud servers. Therefore, data integrity checking is very critical to avoid any potential risks involved with the data corruption that may occur during the process of collecting data from a storage server.Certificateless cryptography-based data auditing schemes efficiently address these limitations and hence are preferred along with public key infrastructure and identity-based cryptography data integrity checking protocols. In some security algorithms in literature on cloud-based public key cryptography, a third-party auditor has a significant role-for instance, in a data integrity checking algorithm. In this paper, a new system model is proposed where the auditor and the auditee are both located in a fog infrastructure. In the fog CPS architecture, a scheme to check the integrity of data is also managed by the cloud server with an audit verifier. The initial security evaluation of the proposed protocol will check the tamper resistance of metadata and integrity in data proofs.Evaluation of the performance of the protocol will focus on the establishment of the efficiency of the protocol.
