Distributed Identity Model for the Trading of 5G Networks and Beyond

Breno da Costa Paulo, Emma O'Brien, Ángel Martín, Adriana Fernández–Fernández, Alfonso Egio · 2024

The digital transformation of networks fueled by virtualisation and softwarisation opens new possibilities for trading networks and computing resources building next generation marketplaces. Blockchain is a core trend for distributed markets and assets trading. Blockchain technology provides transaction recording and can be used to support distributed identities assigned to elements stored in the blockchain. A marketplace will also require the definition of trading transaction formats. TM Forum is producing reference models for the management of business-to-business transactions in network operations. This paper establishes the conventions followed to support the connection of distributed identities, required by TM Forum documents, and the implementation on top of Hyperledger Indy, showing the performance for representative network and computing trading tests.
