This paper put forward an Efficient Clustering and dynamic slot allocation procedure to address the issues such as collision, delay, over-hearing and energy consumption in Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs). The cluster based Dynamic Time Division Multiple Access (TDMA) Medium Access Control (MAC) protocol (DTMP) is derived from PSO and TDMA, used to improve the medium utilization during data transmission. Initially, the nodes are grouped together and a node among the group will elected as a cluster head (CH) by using Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO). Later the CH will take care of assigning the TDMA slots to its members for information transfer. Finally, data transmission is performed in the predicted time slot. The results of the proposed system reveal that, it outperforms well when compared to existing approaches and prolong the network lifetime too.
