Augmented Reality: Enhancing Collaboration and Design Across Spaces
Saee Singh, Vikas Kamra · 2024
Augmented Reality was first invented in 1968, since then it is rapidly transforming and impacting all the touches we make onto this digital world in our daily lives. It is an interactive experience that combines the virtual reality and the physical world. From making the learning process more productive to facilitating all the shopaholic, AR has made a remarkable impact. However, we have experienced AR single handedly, but a very critical aspect of the Collaborative Usage and Physical Environment Requirements has been somewhat overlooked such as User Interface Complexity, Technical Limitations, Privacy and Security concerns, Lighting and Environment Clutter. To ensure the fulfilment of the users demands, it is necessary to examine their requirements and feedback and categorize the methods used for AR advancements so that practitioners and researchers will be equipped to develop suitable applications. This paper presents a theoretical framework derived from the previous research of the most efficient methods for AR. Methods are grouped according to the application domains and we reviewed user requirements and challenges and proposed the required methods and solutions to be adapted resulting the enhancement in the existing system. Additionally, we have talked about AR implementation using Mobile Phones and Robotic Device. This approach should facilitate the evolution of the AR technology and ultimately becoming accessible to a broader audience. Lastly, we discussed the limitations and further scope of enhancements for the future working of our project.
