Application and Research of Large Language Model in Foreign Language Translation

With the rapid development of artificial intelligence technology today, Large Language Model (LLM) has made significant progress in the field of language processing, particularly demonstrating immense potential in foreign language translation technology. This study aims to discuss the application of LLM in foreign language translation and analyze their profound impact on foreign language majors and talent cultivation. The article provides a detailed introduction to the technical background, current status, advantages, and limitations of LLM in translation. By comparing LLM with traditional translation technologies and combining specific practical cases, the practical application of LLM in professional translation fields is explored. Based on this, the study further analyzes the impact of LLM on the curriculum design, teaching methods, and student ability cultivation in foreign language majors, pointing out possible paths for the future development of foreign language majors. The research indicates that LLM not only enhances translation efficiency and accuracy but also drives changes in the educational model of foreign language majors, providing new ideas for cultivating foreign language talents that meet the demands of the new era.
