At present, fiber-optical Current Transformers (FOCT) is one of the main equipment to measure DC current in power system. The operating experience of FOCT shows that under extremely bad environments such as extreme cold(-42.4°C), high-temperature, strong breeze, and vibration, outdoor photoelectric equipment such as light sources, optical fibers, and photodetectors in the FOCT optical circuit are prone to degradation, leading to changes in the operating status of FOCT. The degradation of core components and the bad working environment of ultra-high voltage can ultimately lead to device failure, equipment failure, and affect the safe and stable operation of the DC system. Therefore, conducting an evaluation of the operational status of FOCT in extremely poor environments and improving the long-term reliability of FOCT equipment is of great significance.
