Face recognition technology's integration into Extended Reality (XR) environments offers new opportunities but raises significant privacy and data protection concerns. Therefore, there is a critical need to develop privacy-preserving facial recognition solutions for XR applications that comply with data protection regulations. To address this challenge, we propose the PRINIA framework, which implements facial recognition in XR environments while safeguarding individuals' privacy and personal data. PRINIA is autonomous and compatible with broader technological frameworks like SERMAS, covering various XR scenarios, such as identifying users of head-mounted displays (HMDs), recognizing people in XR environments, and classifying individuals based on facial characteristics analysis.
