Virtual Reality Environment: Detecting and Inducing Emotions

Virtual reality (VR) provides an innovative platform for investigating the verbal and non-verbal keys in emotion induction, as emotion plays a vital role in human interactions. However, the accurate identification of facial emotions in VR has been challenging. This paper introduces a novel approach to enhancing emotions in a VR immersive environment. Our proposed study leverages a Convolutional Neural Network approach to accurately identify real-time emotion detection with emotion induction within a VR environment during virtual health consultations. The proposed system was evaluated against existing methods, demonstrating superior performance in detecting and alleviating negative emotions such as sadness and frustration.
