Cyber Security Risk Analysis of IoT Ecosystem

The application of IoT in integration with various other technologies has widened the attack surface and introduced security vulnerabilities which further make multifold challenges for the cyber security team. To handle these challenges a structured risk assessment is required to help the cyber security team to assess and mitigate the cyber security risk of IoT ecosystem. This paper studied various risk assessment techniques and found out that there is no risk assessment available for IoT ecosystem. This paper aims to prepare the novel unique risk assessment framework for IoT ecosystem named as RA-IoT. The outcome of the framework shall provide a unified, systematic, comprehensive, and structured risk register for IoT ecosystem. This framework shall help the cyber security teams to use the RA-IoT risk register as a tool for assessing and managing the cyber security risk of IoT ecosystem.
