Many chips considered for on-board payload data processing are heterogeneous, for example including CPU cores and a FPGA fabric on the same die. Hardware/software (HW/SW) co-design tools provide software development environment to help developers to program these chips. This paper presents the results of a CNES study which aimed at developing a new open-source HW/SW co-design tool: LoCod. First version of LoCod targets Xilinx Zynq UltraScale+ with very basic algorithms. Current work focuses on NanoXplore NG-Ultra support and benchmark of more complex algorithms.
