Evaluation Metrics Used For Image Encryption to Analyze the Efficiency Toward Various Attacks
M. Devipriya, M. Brindha · Apple Academic Press eBooks · 2025
Image encryption requires evaluation metrics to analyze whether there is any data leakage or possibility of discovering the key in the encrypted image. Among the various metrics used to analyze image encryption, some are essential for security assessment, others for performance evaluation, quality preservation, and resistance to attacks. This chapter concentrates mainly on attacks related to security assessment, quality preservation, and resistance to attacks. Permutation techniques are used to change the position of pixels, which is one of the processes in image encryption. Chaotic maps are used to perform both permutation and diffusion. Various chaotic maps and permutation techniques are discussed to provide insight into chaotic encryption.
