This chapter explores the potential of artificial intelligence (AI) in tackling cyberbullying, a prevalent social issue plaguing online platforms like Snapchat, TikTok, and Facebook. In the Internet age, cyberbullying is a pervasive social problem that has an enormous effect on people of all ages. Cyberbullying detection is a challenging and complicated problem. Cyberbullying can be hidden or disguised using a variety of methods, making it difficult for computer programs or human reviewers to detect. Machine learning and artificial intelligence may open up many possibilities to prevent cyberbullying. AI-based systems can be trained to identify patterns and trends in cyberbullying behavior, even when it is hidden or disguised. AI can also be used to develop preventive measures, such as identifying and intervening with potential bullies before they begin cyberbullying others. Detecting bullying, harassment, and hate-related texts using supervised machine learning algorithms, and natural language processing techniques, AI-enabled cyberbullying, online social networks, human-AI collaborative approaches are some of the promising methods for using AI to detect and prevent cyberbullying. These strategies could all be successful in identifying and preventing cyberbullying. At the same time, AI-based systems are susceptible to bias and can be tricked by cunning cyberbullies. The chapter advocates for employing AI in conjunction with other strategies, such as social media responsibility campaigns and digital literacy education. This chapter also covers the hazards of cyberbullying on social media and how AI may be used to recognize and prevent it.
