In this digital era, the use of the Internet has significantly increased, and new technologies are evolving. Traditional networks are having a hard time keeping up with all the extra use. The introduction of Software Defined Networking (SDN) is crucial in data centers and also in wide area networks, playing a crucial role in the emerging network architectures. SDN is well-known for its logically centralized design, combined with data and control planes. Controller plays a major role in SDNs as it makes sure everything runs smoothly and behaves the way it is supposed to. Determining the placement and quantity of controllers is essential for analyzing the network performance. Obtaining an efficient number of controllers is crucial to make sure that the network runs smoothly. The proposed Simulated Annealing approach leverages advanced techniques for controller placement, considering the specific goal of minimizing CC-avg latency. This involves the development of optimization approaches that dynamically adapt to network conditions and traffic demands. This research presents a comprehensive and effective approach for SDN controller placement specifically highlighting the reduction of CC-avg latency.
