This chapter begins with a general discussion of the functions of “housekeeping circuits”. The importance of UnderVoltage LockOut (UVLO) as a feature in power processing components is covered. The importance and utility of hysteresis are discussed, using a practical example. A detailed design review of the housekeeping circuitry used in the reference design is presented. The chapter concludes with a discussion of biasing options for the 2.5V shunt voltage reference.
