In an age where digital communication has taken precedence, the need for concealed and secure conversations has become ever-more important. Audio steganography facilitates the process of hiding secret messages in audio within a file or audio signal, thereby rendering the embedded data undetectable in the file. This work presents the idea of understanding and implementation of the principles of audio steganography and disclosing the methods of embedding and extracting secret messages on audio files. The main aim is to develop an audio steganography application, that embeds and extracts hidden messages, and tests the direct relation of perceptibility, capacity, and robust communication. Implementing simple steganographic method of least significant bit (LSB) a spread spectrum approach, phase coding, and echo hiding among other applications, we aim to build a versatile audio steganographic system. The work addresses some pervasive problems that accompany accessing an audio file steganographically, including maintaining some level of audio quality, securing the data, and interpreting the steganography in audio. The implementation of the work, has contributed to the body of literature around digital steganography by mapping out useful techniques for concealed communication. The systems approach to anomaly characterization illustrates both the practicality and feasibility of audio steganography as, and possibly the portent to communicate. Ultimately, the work carried out opens avenues for ongoing investigations in the field of research related to audio steganography.
