Artificial intelligence (AI)-powered cyberattacks pose a significant threat to both organizations and individuals. These attacks are becoming more sophisticated, adaptive, and difficult to detect. As AI technology continues to advance, defenders must also harness AI and machine learning to bolster cyber security measures, creating a cat-and-mouse game between attackers and defenders in the digital realm. AI has come forth as a powerful tool with the latent ability to reshape industries, solve complex problems, and enhance our lives. However, as with any powerful tool, the misuse of AI can lead to malicious intent. We will explore the various ways to exploit AI for malicious intent in this chapter, delving into its dark side. This chapter will explore the ethical and security implications of malicious AI usage, from deepfake technology to autonomous weapon systems.
