Cyberattacks are increasingly targeting critical infrastructure, leading to significant disruptions not only in digital systems but also in environmental management and sustainability. This paper examines the ripple effect of cyberattacks on environmental systems, highlighting both direct impacts-such as damage to monitoring and control systems and indirect consequences, including the exacerbation of ecological degradation. Through detailed case studies of recent incidents, we analyze the vulnerabilities of essential services like water supply, energy production, and waste management. Additionally, we explore risk assessment methodologies and propose frameworks for integrating cybersecurity and environmental resilience, emphasizing the need for holistic strategies to mitigate potential threats to both technological and ecological systems.
