A New Secure Color Image Encryption Based on Confusion and Diffusion Encryption Mechanism

Kirtpreet Kaur, Krishnendu Rarhi · 2024

This research offers a comprehensive image encryption algorithm based on the Chen map for shuffling, coupled with a dual layered confusion technique. The first one employs a fusion of a 2D Logistic Sine map and Linear Congruential Generator to create the initial encryption key, while the second layer uses a 1D Chaotic Quadratic map and Holmes Chaotic map to generate the encryption keys. The diffusion process utilizes the Nahrain Chaotic map. The encrypted image is subjected to rigorous testing, including the NIST SP 800 suite, differential analysis, and brute-force attack simulation. Results indicate robustness against attacks, validating the effectiveness of the proposed encryption method for secure image transmission and storage.
