The integration of artificial intelligence (AI) in various fields elicits various perspectives and discourse, positioning it as a globally significant topic. This study addresses a gap in cross-cultural and educational research by adapting the Student Attitudes toward Artificial Intelligence Scale (SATAI) into Turkish. It provides a validated tool to explore emerging adults’ AI attitudes in a non-WEIRD (Western, Educated, Industrialized, Rich, and Democratic) context. A rigorous translation and back-translation process was used for adaptation. Participants (N = 616) completed the SATAI and the General Attitudes toward Artificial Intelligence Scale (GAAIS). Confirmatory factor analyses confirmed the reliability and validity of the three-factor SATAI structure in the Turkish sample. The scale also demonstrated good construct validity through significant correlations with GAAIS. This study advances theoretical understanding of multidimensional AI attitudes and offers practical implications for educational policymakers and technology developers to align strategies with culturally nuanced perspectives.
