Padraig Houlahan · 2025

Python is probably the most popular programming language among scientists, and in this chapter, we present an overview of some core concepts and mechanisms that proved to be very useful. Object-Oriented Design allows us to build software that is easy to maintain and easy to extend, and provides mechanisms for safely sharing data and variables. Since Python has different ways to handle collections of data, such as lists, arrays, and dataframes, we include a brief overview of their usage.
