Navigating the legal landscape of sustainable Industry 4.0

Soumya Prakash Patra · 2025

The emergence of Industry 4.0 technologies has enabled combining traditional manufacturing processes with new-generation innovations such as the Internet of Things, artificial intelligence, and big data analytics. That being said, it helped develop the new age of manufacturing and operational efficacy. Together with this, the notion of sustainability appeared: industries should be economically suitable and function in an ecologically friendly and socially embracing way. Our research study concentrates on the law with Industry 4.0 and sustainability. Our study guide analyzes the most impactful legal obstacles, such as “data privacy and security, intellectual property rights, and environmental regulation.” Our paper comprehensively investigates these hindrances while offering viable strategies aimed at legal compliance and risk reduction in sustainable Industry 4.0. This paper examines and explores various tactics that industries can employ to overcome law-related obstacles, using examples from case studies and existing legislation.
