Abstract. Diarrhea is one of the common diseases after flooding, especially in areas where people do not have access to sanitation and clean water. Diarrhea is a loose bowel movement accompanied by an increase in the frequency, weight or volume of feces. Increasing understanding through knowledge can encourage a person's actions. Knowledge is everything that is obtained as a result of sensing an object, which is known to be able to raise attention to be prepared. Readiness is a person's state of being ready to act and respond to a situation which is one of the efforts to reduce the impact of a disaster. The purpose of this study was to determine the relationship between the level of knowledge and readiness to prevent post-flood diarrhea in Bojongsoang Village, which is an area that often experiences flooding. This study used a rapid survey method with a cross-sectional approach on 210 respondents, samples were taken using a two-stage cluster method. The data for this study were obtained from a questionnaire on the level of knowledge and readiness to prevent post-flood diarrhea, then analyzed using a frequency distribution and Chi-square test on the SPSS application. The results showed that almost all respondents had a good level of knowledge, namely 186 people (88.6%) and most respondents also had good readiness, namely 118 people (56.2%). The results of the data analysis showed that there was no significant relationship between the level of knowledge and the readiness to prevent post-flood diarrhea (p = 0.516). This is influenced by socioeconomic factors, namely the level of income and the number of dependents at home owned by each head of the family. This study is expected to be a basis for the government and related organizations in improving education in flood-prone areas to prevent the spread of post-flood diarrhea.
