A Mobile Ad Hoc Network (MANETs) are incredibly flexible and suited for use in a number of scenarios because of their infrastructure-free and self-organized nature. However, these networks operate under severe limitations, including bandwidth and energy. These limitations are a result of the wireless channel’s shared structure, cross-node interference, and devices with limited resources. In cross-layer architecture, each tier of the protocol stack operates independently, in contrast to traditional network design. We investigate potential advantages of information exchange between several layers in real-time video streaming. This cutting-edge approach entails information exchange across the various protocol layers and performance optimization for endto-end by adjusting to this information for each protocol layer. We discuss the key parameters used in the information flow across layers and the associated cross-layer adaptation. This cross-layer strategy exhibits considerable performance advantages for video streaming. So, in this paper, various cross layer-based solutions are explored and compared to find out best solution for proposing novel scheme.
