Oil and gas pipelines serve as vital conduits for energy transportation, and their safe and stable operation is crucial for safeguarding national energy security and promoting socio-economic development.Given China's complex and diverse landforms, and the frequent occurrence of geological disasters, the safety of oil and gas pipelines faces severe challenges. To effectively address the monitoring and early warning needs for geological disasters affecting oil and gas pipelines, a monitoring system for such disasters was successfully developed, relying on industrial internet of things and computer software technologies, and undergoing a series of rigorous processes including business justification, system design, and field project validation. The application effectiveness of this system in actual engineering projects was thoroughly verified. Moreover, the specific case studies demonstrate significant results in enhancing the prevention and control capabilities for geological disasters affecting oil and gas pipelines. The conclusions obtained in this study not only provide a strong basis for the prevention and control of geological disasters in oil and gas pipelines, but also offer support for technological advancements and application promotion in this field.
